Mrs Darlington’s recipe gets the most deep, tangy flavour out of these small, dark purple fruits and into the jar. Fresh baked bread, hot toast or as the filling of a sponge cake – they’re all made more delightful with a helping of damson jam.
Ingredients: Sugar, damsons, gelling agent: pectin. Prepared with 49 grams of fruit per 100 grams. Total sugar content 65 grams per 100 grams.
